How CalcStreet prepares financial guidance.
CalcStreet publishes calculators and practical explanations for planning and education. This page explains who maintains that content, how assumptions are handled and how sources are selected.
Updated September 1, 2026Who creates the content
Calculator explanations and guides are written and maintained by CalcStreet Editorial. We use an organization byline rather than inventing individual author credentials that do not exist.
How calculations are checked
Calculator logic is built around published formulas and visible assumptions. When a guide includes an example, the math is checked against the same calculation approach described on the Methodology page. Scenario rates are labeled as assumptions unless a dated external source is explicitly cited.
How sources are selected
For factual U.S. home-finance claims, CalcStreet prioritizes primary or authoritative sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other official documentation. Sources are linked in the article when they materially support a claim.
What the content is for
The goal is to help readers understand the inputs, tradeoffs and assumptions behind a financial decision. CalcStreet does not publish calculator outputs as personalized financial advice, loan approval decisions or lender quotes.
Updates and corrections
We update pages when calculator logic changes, when a cited source materially changes or when a correction is needed. Questions or correction requests can be sent to hello@calcstreet.com.
